As RATIONALE continues to grow, my responsibilities continue to evolve. Leading the Research team and its 3 Research Lead and Chemists, my main goal is to ensure that each product development goes as smoothly as possible and come to launch in our multiple stores and websites.As a leader of the industry, it is key for RATIONALE to continue to innovate and provide the best experience to our clients. In that regards, my role is essential in facilitating the sourcing of new raw materials and equipment as well as the innovation in the lab and relating all the fantastic results in various formats. With the release of RATIONALE's new manufacturing facility and the launch of the brand in Singapore and in the USA, scale up, quality assurance and regulatory tasks have taken more space in my to-do list.In regards to the launch in Singapore, where RATIONALE established its first international store, my main task was to manage all the regulatory aspects of that launch, ensuring products were compliant and registered. All in all, this role is really one of facilitating. Facilitating product development, team growth, brand expansion and innovation.

RATIONALE's Research team is composed of R&D and Quality & Compliance sections.As the Assistant Research Manager, I manage the Research Chemists, the Quality Assurance and Safety Associate as well as the Quality Control Technician. I overlook various research & compliance projects and ensure Rationale releases luxurious and potent products on the National and Global markets. Innovation is at the core of our day to day work and it is a major part of my role to keep an eye on and develop strategies to keep RATIONALE on the front line of new technologies and concepts.One of my goals at Rationale is to set-up tools to ensure the Research and Compliance teams are on their road for success while the company keeps growing and expanding.

I develop cosmeceutical products, taking into account high loading of active ingredients, innovation, cost and time constraints. Whether it is a formulation from scratch or a reformulation, I am involved from the concept through the development and the scaling up and troubleshooting once the product is on the market. My job has another dimension related to the logistic of the team and laboratory. I am managing and mentoring other team member while ensuring the laboratory is rolling at any time (Raw materials inventories, safety, SOP...)But the funniest and best part of this job is being constantly able to innovate while formulating or creating/upgrading processes. As Ultraceuticals is a growing company, innovation and uniqueness are key at any level. Among all projects, reformulation was as important as reverse engineering, few products were developed from scratch.Every projects were at different stages: concepts, development or scale up.Laboratoires BF International gave me the opportunity to work on innovative textures to present during a beauty exhibition in Paris as well as participating to the development of an innovative cosmetic/biology method.I also had the opportunity to take care of different kind of tests such as stability, compatibility, QA and other HRIPT and ocular tests. Some of our clients required panel testing which I had to handle. As a contract manufacturer, I provided technical support to our associate manufacturers, marketing teams and clients. This experience was the opportunity to discover a different way of working within the fragrance industry. I was responsible a key major client, applying different fragrance submissions to skin care, hygiene and hair care products. The main challenge was the compatibility between the product and the fragrances. This job required me to communicate with perfumers and evaluators in regards of the success or failure to find compatibility and/or stability between the fragrance and the product. I also have been responsible of reformulating and optimizing few bases developed by Symrise. This has been my first experience in operational marketing. My main responsibility was to study the hair care and anti-perspirant/deodorant market in terms of trends, application and fragrances. Part of this role, I updated and upgraded existing marketing tools which were used by the French and global department of Scent & Care.This role required me to always be up-to-date with new launches and trends. I have learned a lot of methods and used several tools such as Mintel to succeed in this task.I also realised few presentations for the Marketing Managers to present to some internal and external stakeholdersAs part of my experience, I assisted one of the Global Marketing Manager in the compilation of market data to then realise a yearly report of the skin care, hygiene and hair care markets in Europe and global.The exciting part of this job was to gather the perfumers and evaluators for sniff tests. I learned how to smell fragrances and discovered the complex universe of fragrances and perfumes.
