Pathé is an agricultural engineer by training and Climate and Environmental Expert. He has more than 20 years experience working across four regions in the World ( Africa, South America, Central Asia, Europe). In his rich professional career, he has occupied various technical, managerial and leadership role at local, country, regional and global level. He joined the United Nations as JPO ( http://www.jposc.undp.org/content/jposc/en/home/how-to-join/jpo-and-sarc-stories/jpo-stories/amath-pathe-sene.html )in Mauritania in 2007 and acting team leader. He was Regional Program Advisor ( 2009-2014) with the UNDP/UNEP Poverty and Environment Initiative based in Nairobi, providing technical assistance to 10 African Countries on mainstreaming environment and poverty objectives into national development and investment frameworks. He joined later the UNDP Global Policy Centre on Sustainable Development in Rio de Janeiro as Policy Specialist supporting countries on the Implementation of the SDGs, the 2030 Agenda and the Paris Climate Deal. Since 2017, he is the Lead Environment and Climate finance for West and Central Africa (24 countries) at IFAD. He provides tailored and holistic technical solutions to de-risk investments and strategies, mobilizing environment and climate finance to build the resilience of smallholders, designing and implementing sustainable and low carbon emission agricultural value chains to reduce rural poverty, food insecurity and malnutrition, while creating decent jobs for rural youth and women.Prior to joining the UN, Pathé worked as food security program manager in Afghanistan focusing on linking relief rehabilitation and development in a fragile state. He received various academic awards, distinctions and excellency fellowships. He was also the president of the Association of foreign students in Morocco/ Meknes; Member of the Cultural Association of IAMM Montpelier; Secretary General of the Senegalese International Civil Servants Association.
