About Amaya Hall
University of Michigan Honors Graduate | Bachelor of Arts in Environment with a Justice specialization and GermanI am extremely passionate about fighting environmental injustice and have an extensive background in this field through my professional endeavors, leadership in student organizations, experiential projects, and empirical and review research. My specific interests in the realm of environmental justice include food insecurity, exposure to pollutants, and lack of green space. Additionally, I am interested in how historic and present housing segregation plays a role in these injustices. I am currently working on publishing a research paper entitled "Environmental Disasters Of The Deep South: The Linkage Between Race/Income And Environmental Injustices" in an environmental justice journal. The paper analyzes five communities in the US Deep South that are victims of environmental hazards on account of systemic and structural racism.
