Hi! I am Amaya Wright, a second year undergraduate student at the University of North Texas and aspiring pediatrician pursuing a BA in biology and minor in Spanish. When I’m not on campus, I can be found in the library, scoping out my next book. My huge adoration for children paired with my passion for medicine has led me to seek pediatrics. I am highly motivated to expand my medical knowledge in order to achieve excellence in my college career.For as long as I remember, being a big sister has been a huge part of my identity. I grew up being responsible for those younger than I am and that job is one that I will take with me for the rest of my life. In high school, I began a small, independent child care business. I enjoy being around kids and their animated personalities. They tend to keep me on my feet! Watching different children of various ages has taught me that all kids are not the same. At this time, I am trying to navigate college life while looking for opportunities that will help me reach my goal of becoming a doctor. Currently, I serve as Vice President of UNT Black STEM.
