Victory Ashaka is a multiple award-winning spoken word poet, youth advisor to the European Union, Lagos state youth ambassador, climate leader, member of the young people's action team of UNICEF Generation Unlimited, a graduate of English Literature at Lagos State University and a certified leadership fellow from Management Institute of Finland in Helsinki. He is artistically inclined with the passion for oratory. His artistic and literary prowess has earned him laurels, certifications and autographs from prominent dignitaries. Victory is not just an artist, he's a social impact maker and a dynamic spoken word performer known for his high-energy performances.Victory emerged as the poet laureate of UNICEF Headquarters for the 2024 United Nations General Assembly in the US and FAO Headquarters for the World Food Forum in Italy. He is a 3x TEDx performer, a millennium fellowship alumnus, SME100 Africa 25under25 and has been recognised by Captain Planet Foundation in the United States. He is also a creator on UNICEF voices of youth platform and has received the Lifetime Carbon Offset Award by The Climate Trust. He has garnered experience from gracing hundreds of stages by working with organisations nationally and globally, including United Nations, TEDx, UNICEF, Lagos State Government, Italian Consulate, British High Commission and such others. He is an ambassador of Dawn Project Network, Theirworld and the convener of Mega Changemakers Conference that has impacted over 1,000 changemakers.He served as President of Literary Voice Club, Vice-president of LASU Debate Society, represented Lagos State University at Nigerian International Tertiary Institutions Model United Nations (NITIMUN) and emerged as the Best Delegate of Peace Building Committee. He uses performance poetry, creative art and his transformational leadership for social reengineering. He currently holds the title of Storifest National Poetry Slam Champion, GenZ Innovator of the Year by Purpose Drive Global, Speakpro National Public Speaking Champion, Young Person of the Year issued by BSMA, Winner of Wikipedia Creative Challenge, Light-Up Africa Development Initiative Challenge and was crowned winner of Antarctica Experience Challenge for malaria elimination in Africa. As a 22 year old poet and changemaker, Victory started his journey as a 10 year old member of the Vision of The Child (VoTC) project superintended by the Nobel laureate, Wole Soyinka. Victory’s artistic mantra is to serve humanity through social impact and to be a beacon of hope for others seeking to find their paths.
