• Designed a feasible Stirling engine system to replace diesel engines in yachts for final year Master’s project. Self-proposed topic based on prior interests. Received excellent feedback from supervisor and external assessor.o Simulated engine thermodynamic cycle and heat exchanger performance in MATLAB. Created a 3D model of the resulting engine in SolidWorks, accounting for manufacturability, ease of maintenance and reliability.• Group work included research in partnership with industry, advising Dstl on the feasibility of Ionic Wind Propulsion technology in the aerospace sector, and a project to design and build a fixed wing UAV.• Proficient in the use of SolidWorks, Ansys and MATLAB for design and simulation work in engineering projects.• Organised the highly successful ‘Formula Egg’ outreach event, promoting engineering in Sheffield, as part of Sheffield Engineering Leadership Academy (SELA). The event ran during the Sheffield Festival of Science and Engineering, and received a commendation from the university’s Vice Chancellor.
