Sigep is an application that manages all aspects of applications to QREN (Main Portuguese/EU funding program), from their submission to their approval and even throughout their implementation. Sigep isn't used as the submission tool, but it takes over just after that.Sigep, under the hood, is a Smart Client application. Uses SQL 2008R2 to store Data, connects to it through Entity Framework, through a set of Web Services in WCF (Exposes both traditional and OData, most generated with T4 templates using the EntityFramework Data Model as their source). On the client side we have Windows Presentation Foundation, working with SelfTracking Entity Framework entities and using Prism integrated with the MEF Dependency Injection Container.It also uses an internally developed OpenXML framework to generate Excel Workbooks that allow users to visualize and work on most of the data from within Excel.
