About Ambe Chenemu

Throwing my hat in the ring as a candidate in the 2023 Northwest Territories Legislative Assembly elections, I had the privilege to meet and dialogue with many Canadians from coast to coast coast while on the campaign trail. Through out the campaign, I engaged in eye-opening conversations with constituents ranging from COVID-19, healthcare, the economy, affordability, climate change, governance, social justice and so much more.As President and Founder of the Black Advocacy Coalition, I lead a grassroots organization that empowers and unites Black voices in Canada's North for racial justice and equal opportunity. We collaborate with various stakeholders and partners to advocate for policy changes, raise awareness, and provide support and resources for the Black community in the region. I also serve as a Justice Advisory Board Member for the Government of Northwest Territories, where I leverage my background in law to review and recommend policies and programs for correctional facilities and offenders. Additionally, I am a Regional Representative for the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) Patient Voice, where I contribute to the advancement of health care and the medical profession in Canada, bringing diverse perspectives and insights from my experience working with indigenous and minority communities on social justice and environmental issues. I am passionate about making a positive impact in the world, and I am always open to new ideas and opportunities. I am innovative, confident, proactive, and self-motivated, and I strive to use my skills and knowledge to improve the lives of others. I am looking forward to collaborating with other leaders and experts who share my vision and values.
