Everyone talks about top talent and A-players. I believe anyone can be an A-player. With the right investment in people, anyone can rise to the top.As a senior HR and people operations leader, I help people identify both their strengths and weaknesses in order to play to their strengths, and mitigate their weaknesses.I do the same at a business level. I’m always asking “where are we strong?” “where are we weak?” and “where are the gaps?” and develop the people strategies to make the most of the strengths, mitigate weaknesses, fill the gaps, and build a strong foundation that helps companies thrive.Inspired by my love of music, I started my career in public and media relations for the music industry. This led to roles planning and executing large-scale events like Summerlicious, Winterlicious and Molson Canadian Rocks for Toronto with the Rolling Stones. After establishing my career in events management, I joined officialCOMMUNITY which was my shift into the technology and start-up space. It was then when I also started my work in HR as a leader of a 16-person team, and realized that I had a passion for the development of people.I stepped into an HR role at TWG as employee #32, and served as a key contributor to building HR and people operations foundations that would enable the company’s rapid growth, and acquisition by Deloitte in 2021. No matter what I’ve been doing, my work has always been about communication. Getting my start writing press releases so media could communicate album releases and events to the public, to strategizing how to communicate all the exciting things Toronto has to offer to tourists, and finally as an HR leader, communicating change, policies, and procedures to teams – my strength in communication has been key to my success. My strength in communication is at the heart of my approach as a leader as well. I want to help people be able to do for themselves, and I empower them with the tools and knowledge to figure out how to excel professionally.Key Skills● HR Strategy● Culture Development● Coaching & Mentoring● Team Leadership● Employee EngagementI love to talk about HR strategy and people development.
