After serving in the United States Air Force as a combat weather forecaster, I earned my Master's in Secondary Education. As an educator, I quickly learned how to adapt instruction to meet the needs of a diverse student population, and that I enjoyed creating curriculum, especially in the realm of technology. After teaching engineering courses for several years, I left the classroom to teach educators how to best integrate technology into their curriculum. While I enjoyed this immensely, I took a position as an Instructional Systems Specialist within Army aviation, which felt much like going home. I quickly learned an entire world within education that I loved. This prompted me to pursue my doctorate in Instructional Design to promote life-long learning within whatever jurisdiction I am serving.
