At PDPW, my role includes creating and executing digital marketing campaigns for social media and marketing emails. For social media, this includes developing a social media strategy based on past performance, upcoming programs, new ideas to engage followers and when to capitalize on social media advertising. For marketing emails, this includes designing appealing graphics and creating enticing subject lines to continue to increase open rates and click-through rates to promote upcoming programs. Other roles in my position include working closely with PDPW’s Dairy Signal as one of the hosts for the live broadcast that occurs every Tuesday-Thursday, as well as creating promotional materials for this program.

While working at Cafferty Farms, I have been able to assist in the management and care of over 200 head of dairy cattle including milking cows, youngstock and steers. In my position, I have helped to assess farm operations and determine areas of improvement and possible solutions. These assessments have helped to improve the overall quality and animal care through decreasing somatic cell count, improving herd genetics and improving heat abatement.

During my time with the Minnesota State Fair, I worked in the Livestock Competition Department by creating communication content and preparing for "The Great Minnesota Get Together". In this role, I helped to communicate fair updates to livestock exhibitors through the development of the Livestock Lowdown newsletter. Along with developing emails, I created trivia and exhibitor slides for the livestock shows. This included creating over 10 unique slideshows and coordinating the slideshow to play in the correct buildings at different times during the fair. I also managed the Minnesota State Fair Livestock social media platforms by building a content calendar to coincide with major deadlines and to build excitement for the various livestock shows. While managing Instagram and Snapchat, I increased Instagram followers by 262%, as well as increased engagement by over two times the amount on both platforms.

As a team member of Caribou Coffee, I worked multiple positions including barista, cashier and sandwich maker. During any day at work, I assisted customers in their coffee selection, created handcrafted drinks and provided an excellent customer service experience.

For three years, I worked for the Minnesota Pork Board during the 12 days of the Minnesota State Fair. During the state fair, I engaged with thousands of consumers by answering questions about pig farming and the pork industry while sharing the story of the farmers who work hard and care for their animals.

As the Communication Intern for The Dairy Alliance, I was responsible for assisting the communication team on multiple projects where I used Adobe Suite programs to edit photos, videos and audio as well as creating content for social media. I also assisted in editing pamphlet layouts, creating monthly newsletters, updating the online newsroom daily and scheduling social media content using Meltwater.

During my summer as the Wright County 4-H Intern, I planned, coordinated and facilitated six educational day camps for 30 elementary youth, as well as two science-based day camps for youth in 4th-6th grade. Aside from coordinating day camps, I organized all 4-H awards and updated and redesigned posters for the Wright County Fair.

While as a cashier for Hy-Vee, I was responsible for checking out customers grocery items while engaging with them in a positive manner. I also assisted customers in locating grocery items around the store, refacing shelves and bagging groceries.

In this position, I worked on the production floor where I graded and packaged a large variety of chicken products. This position required many skills, such as my ability to quickly determine product quality in order to maintain company integrity and standards of products sold to consumers. I was also a part of the select team of employees who worked on a fast-paced production line once every two weeks to grade and package specialty products.
