Employed by Health ResearchTx and contracted to work on-site at the Navy and Marine Corps Public Health Center as a staff epidemiologist facilitating the Health Outcomes Center of Excellence (HORCE) initiative. The HORCE initiative is a collaborative partnership between Navy and Marine Corps Public Health Center (NMCPHC), Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP) and Health ResearchTx (HRTX) to perform DoD-approved health research that will improve force readiness, health outcomes, patient safety, and/or lower healthcare costs across the DoD and throughout the United States. HORCE achieves these goals by performing secondary research on DoD healthcare data in secure collaboration with the best experts both inside and outside the military.Support efforts in conducting research using medical records data from the Military Health System. Write SAS code specific to each project to analyze, manipulate, and interpret data.

Fort Eustus, Va

Manged the environmental restoration program at Fort Eustis, Va. To include restoration, compliance and muntiions sites.I prepared, reviewed and submited reports regarding conceptual site models, public involvement plans, site investigations, remedial investigations, feasibility studies, decision documents/record of decision, proposed plans, remedial actions, remedial action completion reports, long term monitoring, land use control, sampling and analysis plans, operations and maintenance plans, and five year reviews to the US EPA Region III and Virginia Department of Environmental Quality agencies. I prepared project funding requests, plans, scope of works, and databases for all phases of the CERCLA and RCRA process. I reviewed and updated contract/obligation plans for AEC, AFCEE and ACC. I prepared Remedial Action Cost Engineering and Requirements (RACER) estimates for all remediation sites within Fort Eustis. I prepared the Cost-to-Complete memorandum for records and PCEADS on all sites for the Army Environmental Database-Restoration and EESOH-MIS to stay in compliance with environmental liabilities. Annually I updated the Management Action Plan (formerly Installation Action Plan) and Annual Report to Congress.

As a field scientist I provided dedicated support to the EPA Region 2 Removal Program conducting Removal Site Evaluations and supporting time critical and non-time critical Removal Actions. In addition, provided support as part of Removal Support Team (RST’s) 24-hour emergency response team. Conducted air, water, and soil sampling and sample management efforts at various sites. Reduced VOC contaminated soil by excavating large amounts of soil to improve ground water quality. Conducted indoor air and water samples from multiple residences and commercial properties to facilitate the long-term delineation of the contamination plume and continually monitored for vapor intrusion. Indoor Air samples were collected over a 24-hour period using SUMMA canisters. The sampling was conducted as part of EPA’s quarterly Operation and Maintenance monitoring of the existing Soil Vapor Extraction (SVE) system. Monitored the properties to ensure that the SVE system was working properly and the indoor air was below established action levels.
