As a Compliance Officer for the Corporate Services department, City of Mississauga my duties include:• Providing professional, strategic direction and guidance to drive efficiencies, service delivery improvements and strategies to meet regulatory and legislative requirements.• Developing and overseeing systems to manage policy and compliance reviews.• Leading process-improvement projects and the development of SOPs, training material and compliance programs• Leading projects where compliance or policy review has identified inefficiencies or process issues.• Providing reports on process improvement compliance outcomes• Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to assist in developing corporate reports/business cases on facilities development and upgrade studies.• Identifying and researching opportunities to improve operating efficiencies, map out and define new processes, adopt best practices, ensure compliance and improve functional use across the portfolio of City facilities.Previously, as a Standards and Compliance Analyst for the Community Services Department (2020-2024) for the City of Mississauga, my main responsibilities were:• Driving the process for SOP development and revision• Running Quality Management and Compliance Reporting Program• Managing the Community Services Cash Handling Program including compliance audits Prior to the Analyst Position I worked as the Training Coordinator for Mississauga’s Security Services Unit, developing and implementing the Training Program for Security and Transit Bylaw Enforcement Officers. (2017-2020)I have also had the honour of becoming an Instructor for the accredited University of Toronto iPrep Program. This program is relevant for Law Enforcement and Military staff, but can also be applied to any industry or career type. The techniques introduced in the program are universally applicable and based on practical research results. In this role I teach skills and techniques that can be applied to reduce tension and gain acceptance and voluntary compliance during critical situations.
