Hello there, my name is Amber Locklear, ACSW. While I continue to work towards licensure, my current role is the Program Manager at St. Joseph Center's Homeless Service Center. I specialize in treating adults, specifically homeless individuals, who are struggling with mental health. I am highly skilled in encouraging and teaching individuals how to begin the healing process who are are diagnosed (or undiagnosed) with Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar I and II, PTSD, and Complex Trauma. I also have a focused concentration in 12 Step, Harm Reduction, and CBT work which I apply to individual therapy as needed. I am passionate about "talk therapy" taking an eclectic, holistic approach-I focus on meeting individuals where they are. I also understand that healing does not happen overnight, it is a lifelong journey. I am simply a navigator who is there to guide the individual to where the pain is and then motivate them to begin the healing process. I believe the real work comes from within-where the trauma lives. I am willing to walk the path with them as the individual finds their way.
