Coordinate and manage permitting activities for NG Renewables projects in the States of Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin and Indiana for utility scale projects in solar, wind and battery storage. Work closely with development, construction and operations and act as liaison for local governments and businesses throughout the permitting process.

Conduct investigations to determine existing rights and required rights for new business projects, main replacement projects, and DOT projects. Draft documents for, and procurement easements where needed. Review and approve subdivision plats, vacation requests, and encroachment requests.

Responsible for planning, administering, and coordinating both short-range and long-range community development and improvement programs and projects. Responsible for the administration of all land use regulations including the zoning and subdivision ordinances of the Development Code of the City. Oversee Planning, Zoning, Building, Inspections, Economic Development, Development, Code Enforcement, Animal Control and GIS.

Responsible to develop, manage and evaluate community development programs, which include planning; subdivision and site plan review; redevelopment; housing; building plan review & inspections; economic development; and environmental services. Prepared and monitored the annual budget; and responsible for providing professional planning and development advice to elected and appointed officials, City staff, citizens and developers. Act as the Assistant Executive Director for the City’s Housing and Redevelopment Authority. Direct implementation and updates to the City’s Master Housing Plan. Oversee the development, implementation and revision of the City’s 2030 Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan meets Metropolitan Council guidelines for population growth, sewer service, and transportation. Additionally, I work cooperatively with the Police Department to manage Code Enforcement and abatement activities.

Initiate, develop, direct, and supervise the implementation of all matters related to planning and economic development for the City of Marshfield. This responsibility includes a wide range of areas in the planning process including short- and long-range planning, current planning, land use regulations, annexations, TID development plans, subdivision regulation, cooperative boundary agreements, historic preservation, sign ordinance, development review team, design guidelines, and transportation system plans; including the assurance all plans are supported through the City’s capital improvement program. I was responsible for coordinating efforts for business retention, expansion, and recruitment activities, between the City, the Chamber of Commerce, Main Street programs, the Business Improvement District, and the Marshfield Economic Development Association.

Tailor incentive packages to individual businesses to retain jobs in the City and attract companies to relocate to the City. Perform preliminary TIF analysis to determine project revenue capability and need for additional gap financing or tax abatement. Work extensively with revolving loan fund products, SBA loans, EDA loans, Brownfield tax credits, historic tax credits, and enterprise zone and empowerment zone benefits. Worked with the Land Reutilization Authority which takes in all tax delinquent property for the City. Targeted areas of the City to generate redevelopment plans and activities. Performed cost analysis for development, site assemblage and relocation costs for targeted areas.
