Environmental Engineer
CurrentDepartment of Environmental Services - Manufactured Gas Plant (MGP) Remediation:- Effectively manage and direct the work of environmental consultants and contractors to maintain project schedules and goals.- Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, adhere to project schedules, and keep costs within budget.- Responsible for being aware of, and maintaining a working knowledge of, applicable state and federal laws, regulations, and guidance related to MGP site remediation.- Responsible for contract negotiation, contract administration, and understanding common construction practices.- Review invoices submitted by contractors to ensure details are correct, work was completed, and requested payments are appropriate.- Responsible for budget development, tracking costs, and cost projection analysis.- Track and maintain NJNG/NJR environmental permits and ensure compliance with permit conditions.- Responsible for complying with the Company's SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements related to MGP environmental liability reporting.- Participate in public meetings and engage in regulatory discussions to help foster trust and improve the understanding/acceptance of NJNG projects.- Responsible for competently leading a MGP project team to control cost, maintain effective communication, ensure forward progress, and protect the interests of the Company.- Contribute to the success of the Company's environmental initiatives by serving on the New Jersey Resources Environmental Committee.- Assist with aspects of project management related to Renewable Natural Gas and Hydrogen projects.
