Quality Assurance Supervisor
In August of 2017 Upthere Inc was purchased by Western Digital Technologies. I was kept aboard during the transition to supervise the manual side of the testing process. During this time I assisted my manager with interviewing and finding appropriate people to join our team based on our skillset needs at the time. While I ensured that the day to day running of the manual testing continued to run smoothly during the time of transition we also grew the automation team to support not only the Upthere product that was still a focus, but also the greater Western Digital products as well. On a weekly basis I managed and delegated tasks that my team needs to focus on based on priority, maintained the Jira workboard for the entire front end engineering team dedicated to the Upthere product, and provide training and growth support for my entire team. I also assisted with training the offshore team, providing reports to the greater overall team, and maintaining the tools that our team used as a whole. Additionally, I assisted with the day to day testing of servers, current live applications and new applications. Western Digital also provided me with leadership training which I hope to continue to use in order to assist myself and others with growing in our careers.
Apps Qa Manager
My work at Upthere involves working with the entire company in order to promote and distribute a well developed product. On a day to day basis I interact with a number of different teams in order to gain information about what new features and changes are going into the supported applications and platforms. This helps me to better write and design the test cases that we need in order to ensure that as few bugs as possible are left at the end of each development cycle. It also helps me to better plan out what testing needs to happen during each phase of the cycle so that I can better instruct my testers on a day to day basis. I manage the testing of our application across all apple supported platforms and assist with web, server, windows and android testing on a weekly basis. I am also in charge of distributing the product to the company as a whole regularly during each cycle and assisting with troubleshooting when the need arises.
Quality Assurance Lead
During my time at Disney Interactive I started as a Senior Tester and was promoted to Lead in January of 2014. In both roles I worked directly with the production and Engineering teams to help ensure the release of titles to the public with as few issues as possible. This involved testing of applications either through ad-hoc methods or following test cases that I had helped to design. As a lead I worked with my manager to build a team of experienced testers. I led five different titles during my time at Disney and assisted with leading the testing of several others. I worked with the production and engineering teams in order to obtain the needed documentation, set up a process that worked for everyone and ensure that the title made it from pre-alpha to Geo-Beta launch and then World Wide launch successfully as well as supporting the application while it remained live. I wrote test cases, test plans, provided proposals for new processes and kept track of the budget for the QA team on the projects that I was on. My other responsibilities included maintaining the bug database, delivering tasks to each of the testers that reported to me on a daily basis as well as distributing information and tasks to the external QA team and working as closely with my testers as possible in order to ensure that they were able to meet their full potential while supporting the project on the bare minimum of necessary testers.
Quality Assurance Analyst
During my time at Promptu I performed the role of senior tester. My duties included writing test cases for the application, filing tickets for any issues found and general testing of the application following the test cases that were written by myself and other testers. This was primarily a solo project and did not involve working with the rest of the test team beyond checking in with the manager. Each tester managed their own time and tasks in order to complete the given tasks in a timely manner. The application was provided on Android devices and we tested across the spectrum of devices available at that time.
Quality Assurance
At SView I acted as a member of the Quality Assurance team for their mobile application as well as the web based tools that clients would be using to provide information for the application. There were two members in the QA team which ensured that I had a hand in every project that passed through the QA office. Among my duties were documentation, ensuring that the product worked as expected on all handsets across multiple carriers and Operating Systems, checking the company's web based tools for issues occurring on different web browsers, and working hand in hand with other members of the company to provide information. Being a small company, I worked closely with every member of the local SView office as well as many members of overseas offices.
Quality Assurance
While at Namco Bandai I was responsible for hands on testing of new games coming out for PlayStation 3 and XBox 360. While reporting to a lead and working with a team of other testers I performed tests looking for issues occurring during playthroughs, ad-hoc testing, and performed regressions. For any issues that were found I would file a bug ticket through the internal system and deliver it to the development team for resolution.
Quality Assurance
While at Namco Networks I acted as quality assurance for mobile devices and applications. At this position I found and documented issues and then regressed them in future builds. I worked on a number of different carriers including T-Mobile, Rogers and Fido. I tested both BREW and J2ME applications on a variety of different handsets. For some of these applications I would work directly in conjunction with the engineer on the title. The team that I was on launched a number of new titles to T-Mobile, Rogers and Fido while I was working with them.
Community Team Leader
At Soldiers Angels I filled the position of event coordinator for the California Bay Area and acted as state coordinator for volunteers at VA hospitals in California. As event coordinator it was my job to find events and ways to fund raise that were military friendly to support the Non-Profit. At events I would manage the table, answering questions and handling sales of items to profit the organization as well as getting people to sign cards to send to deployed troops. As state coordinator it was my job to work with hospital volunteer coordinators to find volunteers for every VA Hospital in California. This included handling monthly reports and providing the information I was given to the founder of the organization. During this time I set up volunteer networks at fourteen hospitals in California and helped to implement new programs that have since spread to be nationwide. Soldiers Angels is a 501-c3 Non-Profit organization dedicated towards helping military personnel. After resigning my position as coordinator I remained active with the organization for several more years.
Quality Assurance Tester
At Outspark my position was Quality Assurance for PC games as well as the company Website. I worked directly with the team lead as well as the Game Moderators for the MMO that was in production. I worked on two free MMO's (Fiesta and Secret of the Solstice) testing both the game itself and the website connected with them for any possible issues. This included testing cash items that were bought through the website and often caused problems during their implementation. I also worked on a all other products, primarily web based, from this company. This position was mostly Black Box testing.
Quality Assurance
At Digital Chocolate I was an entry level Quality Assurance tester for mobile devices. For the most part I worked with a team concentrating on handsets and applications due to be launched for Sprint and Nokia but I also filled in across a number of other carriers when needed. I loaded and tested applications as well as managing issues in the bug database in use. In addition I performed as acting lead for a number of reference projects working directly with people in offices located in Helsinki, Finland, and Bangalore, India in order to get the project released by the deadline. During this time I worked on handsets for both BREW and J2ME carriers, implemented new guidelines for initial test cases on reference builds, and tested WAP sites through some of the carriers to ensure that all links worked correctly and pages appeared appropriately across all handsets. I also performed black box testing on new applications and hardware.
Quality Assurance
During my time at SEGA I filled the position of entry level Quality Assurance. I found and documented issues on the Sony Playstation Portable version of Sonic Rivals. This often involved working long hours and using multiple machines simultaneously. We followed test cases, performed soak tests and ad-hoc testing as needed.
Tester
At Sony I performed as entry level Quality Assurance. In this position I analyzed console games for the Sony Play Station 2 and the Sony PSP. It was my job to find and document issues and to regress those issues on future builds. During this time I worked on such titles as Guilty Gear Judgment, Pirates of the Caribbean and FIFA among others. My duties focused around multi-player testing specifically on third-party titles with online functionality.
