This job entails working in many departments around the store, for example working freight out of the backroom and stocking shelves. This also means working the front end of the store and helping cash out customers or working on the floor and flowing clothes while also assisting customers and talking about the TJX rewards program. While working, extra cleaning protocols for Covid-19 are also completed throughout the day.

I was in charge of the store when the Store Manager was not oresent making sure that all daily duties were completed before the day was over and that the store front was clean of anything on the floor and the trash was taken care of. As well as complete the extra cleaning protocols for Covid-19.

I worked with two PhD students on their thesis project where they were analyzing genetic differences between the species Arabidopsis lyrata and its many sub species. This was a commen garden experiment and a line-cross analysis. The over all goal was to assess the potential differential adaptation strategies these species “used” in response to the varying climate conditions. These species were planted in several locations across the east coast of the U.S. I was in charge of the adirondack location. My duties included but were not limited to; helping set up the common garden experiement and the plot, taking pictures every week of each plant, and collecting data on size, growth, and any damage to the leaves. Over all my own capstone project emerged from this project and I learned a lot about real science over the course of the internship.
