Environmental Scientist
CurrentMy primary job duties include performing wetland delineations in accordance with the USACE 1987 Wetlands Delineation Manual, utilizing the Iowa DNR River Restoration Toolbox for stream restoration design, and aiding in environmental permitting for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.I have conducted dozens of wetland delineations in remote locations spanning throughout Minnesota and Iowa and can identify a large variety of plants to species. I have also created hundreds of figures and exhibits using both Esri ArcGIS ArcMap and ArcPro software. I work closely with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, and various local government units to receive the necessary permits for various projects including stream restoration projects, conservation impoundments, residential developments, utility line installations, wastewater treatment facility expansions, bridge and culvert installations, and more. I also utilize Autodesk Civil 3D and Bluebeam Revu to develop plans for numerous conservation and stream restoration projects and have applied for and received millions of dollars of grant funding for the design and construction of these projects. I am also certified to conduct construction site inspections of stormwater management plans and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans(SWPPPs) for compliance with the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES).
