*Actively looking for employment!* I am a licensed phlebotomy technician and have 2 years of experience so far. over this time I have gained accurate venipuncture skills with various age groups of patients, and body types. I'm used to performing 25-30 sticks a day. working in a hospital has improved my speed and accuracy in phlebotomy because I was responsible for several different floors of the hospital at a time, most requisition orders were timed and could not be late to the Laboratory. I have gone into Covid units, the ER, ICU, Adult psych, and in-patient hospital rooms to assist nurses with blood collection, and to collect per requisition. I also have Lab assistant experience from working in a diagnostic Laboratory. I had my externship there first and was hired right after I finished getting my phlebotomy license. I would travel and collect specimens from patients in nursing homes and assisted living facilities (our clients) we also took walk-in's and appointments for lab work per patient's doctor order. after getting back to the lab, I would accession the samples/specimens by Entering the requisition and patient demographics into the computer, then verifying the patients insurance coverage. I'd then assist the lab techs by preparing the samples for testing (centrifuge, splitting the serum or plasma, freezing, placing on invert machines, organizing the samples per testing department, etc) Currently, I'm working at a blood bank and now have experience and training for collecting units (pint) of blood. I can use any size needle gauge with confidence and successful accuracy for various phlebotomy types. donation bags, test tubes, blood cultures, etc. I've also done swab cultures for wounds/ infected wounds, and covid swab tests. I work well in a team or alone. I can multi-task or focus on one task if needed. I can adapt to changes, new methods, or new operating procedures quickly. I'm motivated by being able to do my best at work and come home with the satisfaction of knowing I helped people with either their vital lab work, or with the donated blood that will save lives of people that need it. I'm also able to lift well above 50lbs above my head, stay on my feet for long periods of time, and im physically fit/ exercise often. I dont have official experience in warehouse jobs or manual labor, but I am capable of taking on a job in that field as well and would enjoy it as much as phlebotomy!
