As a senior church advisor, I worked with some of World Vision's largest donor churches to help care for children around the world. My responsibilities included fundraising, event marketing, leading global travel teams, and strategy for regional growth.

Following my Peace Corps service, I returned to World Vision and in 2007 was promoted to lead a seven person team that provided marketing, operations, and human resources assistance to our region. This required managing a $4 million budget with expected fundraising of over $28 million. We were innovators in cause marketing and the use of video and social media in domestic and international contexts. We launched Team World Vision, starting with one runner. It is now the largest charity in the Chicago marathon and a multi-million dollar fundraiser for the organization. My work occasionally involved media relations, including serving as a correspondent covering crisis response in Pakistan, following the 2005 earthquake.
