As a mother, nomad, and dreamer, I stumbled upon my self-publishing journey when I woke up with an idea for "Jack and His Mind" and a few other stories featuring Jack that deal with issues children face. Though I had no previous experience in writing or illustrating, I was determined to bring my stories to life in a unique and personal way.As a self-described creative, I decided to illustrate my book after my grandmother encouraged me to try and illustrate it on my own. Her support gave me the confidence to try, so I spent countless hours researching techniques and experimenting with different styles until I found the perfect fit for my story.My journey as an accidental author and self-taught illustrator is a testament to my willingness to take on new challenges. I have learned a lot along the way, and I desire to help equip others who have the desire to self-publish through school visits and my blog on my website. Encouraging others to chase after something new is something that brings me purpose and fulfilment. I believe that success is found in the trying and that "fulfillment comes creation and not consumption."
