Quality EngineerP1 Technologies (Formerly Plastics One) Jan 2022 - Mar 2023Roanoke, Virginia, United StatesI ensured that all QA documentation remained audit-ready at all times, supporting regulatory and internal/external compliance with FDA 21 CFR Part 820 and ISO 13485 standards. My primary responsibility was leading cross-functional teams in conducting thorough corrective action investigations, including root cause analysis, to address quality concerns identified both internally and externally. I documented all steps of the process, from containment and investigation to corrective action planning, implementation, and effectiveness evaluation.I also chaired monthly Failure Review Boards, where I led reviews of defect statistics, CAPA status, production monitoring, and FMEAs, identifying opportunities for preventive actions and continuous improvement. In addition to my core responsibilities, I provided strong support in various quality initiatives and served as the Quality Manager's backup, offering leadership continuity when needed. One of my most significant contributions was recognizing non-compliance with ISO guidelines in our environmental monitoring procedures. I redesigned and implemented a new monitoring program, which not only improved compliance but also significantly reduced both time and cost, enhancing overall efficiency. -

Graduate ResearcherAppalachian State University Aug 2014 - Jun 2017Boone, NcThe Bellemer research lab focuses on the molecular neurobiology of Drosophila sensory systems, specifically nociception (pain-sensing cells). My personal research focused on evaluating the impact of RNA-binding proteins on thermal nociception using an RNAi screen and behavioral assays to evaluate identified genes of interest,I worked in conjunction with my P.I. (Dr. Bellemer) to establish the new laboratory, managed ongoing maintenance of the lab, developed numerous protocols for lab procedures, and served as the primary trainer for several undergraduates and new graduate students, as well as the secondary trainer for numerous others. I independently and proactively troubleshot problems, developed solutions, and identified methods for improving efficiency. For example, I figured out how to repair the fragile thermocouples used with behavioral assay equipment, reducing the need to purchase replacements and associated costs).I presented research posters at four conferences, presented my thesis research in a departmental seminar, and was awarded grants by the ASU Office of Student Research. -
