Amber Epling-Skinner is an experienced strategic communicator who has worked in state and local government, higher education and journalism for more than two decades. Specializing in leadership communications, Amber has advised elected officials of the executive and legislative branches as well as university presidents, college deans and university administrators on reputation management, media relations and communications strategy. A former television news reporter, Amber is just as comfortable acting as a spokesperson in crisis communication situations as she is leading a video production project for social media. Amber holds a master’s degree in political science and is a 2021 graduate of the LEAD Ohio Campaign Staff Academy. She has counseled candidates running for office at the local and state level on message development and campaign strategy. In 2023, she launched her own first attempt at elected office, running for a seat on the Worthington Board of Education. She won and officially began her four-year term in January 2024.In addition to her full-time job and her public service as a school board member, Amber remains a strong voice in the communications sector, serving as a board member and National Assembly delegate for the Central Ohio PRSA and managing her own freelance agency, Public Square PR.
