I joined the Office of the President in January 2016 during an historic time of presidential transition for my alma mater. During my tenure, I served three Ohio University presidents: President Emeritus Roderick J. McDavis, Interim President David Descutner and current President M. Duane Nellis. I also assisted with strategic communications related to the 2016-2017 presidential search process and served as co-chair of the Presidential Inauguration Planning Committee. As Director of Presidential Communications, I advised the President on communication opportunities that advanced his presidential priorities and the University’s central mission. I also collaborated with senior leadership and the network of Ohio University’s Campus Communicators to strategically identify communication engagement opportunities for the President.

I served as the Lewis McManus Fellow for the 2013-2014 academic year. It is the legislature's most prestigious internship and is only awarded to one graduate student in the state each year. During the 60-day legislative session, I was assigned to the House Judiciary Committee. There I worked with counsel and Chairman Tim Manchin and observed the legislative process from the idea formulation stage all the way to the passing of the law. I researched, drafted, abstracted and presented bills to committee and answered questions from members related to the bill. I attended various committee meetings and full floor sessions. I was assigned and presented more bills to committee than any other McManus Fellow had in the past.
