Built a team of 6 digital content producers and other newsroom staff; manage competitive digital content strategy for the market’s highest-ranked social, web, apps, and OTT platforms; analyze data from all digital channels to identify trends and drive growth; advise news staff on digital best practices and provide training on digital products; implemented Digital First strategy; create digital severe weather plan; consistently ranks highest in the market on all digital platforms; assigned to go-team for breaking news in Midland for the mass shooting and Waco for hurricane coverage support; created Texas chat amongst DCMs before it was cool; assists in the training of new DCMs in the region; assists in helping new DCMs with occasional troubleshooting; navigated through two website redesigns and CMS change; was chosen to be on the initial training team for the ARC CMS. Social media growth by 45k followers, 71 million engagements, and reached nearly 50 million people. Year-over-year growth in web, app, OTT, and video views since 2016 (with 2021 being the exception). I also helped manage the newsroom through four news director changes and other upper management changes.

I managed content on the WAFB.com website, mobile apps, and social media platforms. I managed and contributed to content that is relevant which drives page views, brand message and grows the time on site.I also managed the top viewed Mobile News App in Raycom Media with more than two million page views per week.I managed the top Facebook page in the market with a two percent growth per month in page likes. WAFB is also the leader in followers on Twitter and Instagram.I published content to digital platforms that includes news stories, video and social media specific posts.

In charge of publishing relevant content to drive page views, brand message and time on site. As the first Digital Content Manager at WXIX, I implemented guidelines for website, mobile app and social media management. I published content varying from news stories, to videos, to social media specific posts on a variety of platforms. I also managed a five-member web staff. I trained and guided reporters, producers and other management staff on creating and posting content for the site.

I started in 2007 at KCBD running the Chyron for the morning show. I was tasked with updating a small section of kcbd.com each morning along with my other duties that go along with production staff. That grew into a full time web content producer and assisting with newsroom assignments. As the first digital content manager at KCBD, I learned a lot about news judgment, headline writing, AP style writing, social media and newsroom management in general. KCBD is where my love for news began… but just a few years earlier. This was my second stint at KCBD!
