In brief summarization, the role of Family Development Coordinator is focused on assessing, assisting and supporting applying foster parents to complete the trainings, and documentation requirements. Within this role I complete the SAFE Homestudies and make recommendations for approval.

I support individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health illness. I provide help with daily living skills, life coaching, and support for social and recreational needs.

I managed class sizes of 10-30 students, provided educational and emotional support to students (age 8-13). I utilized various teaching methods teaching the core literacy skills through both academics, arts and different after school and camp programs. I developed a drama curriculum to engage students and develop self- expression through their speaking and listening skills. As head of the drama department, I delegated various tasks as well as provided teacher training through training seminars, mock lessons, and giving follow-up and feedback to colleagues.

As a kindergarten teacher, I managed a class size of 7-12 children aged 5-7. I provided a safe environment for children to learn English through various subjects and cultural exchanges. I provided emotional care, behavioural support and supported their unique educational needs.

In this role I provided care to adults and the aging population with developmental disabilities and dual diagnosis. Monitor psychological, physical health and medical support when required. Follow Individual Support Plan, employ behavioural techniques and Non-Violent Crisis Prevention & Intervention.

I created, implemented and facilitated programs for children ages 7-13 to enhance social skills, self-esteem, develop culinary and creative abilities, and promote safety awareness, cultural and environmental awareness. I took the initiative beyond job requirements to collect data on children’s developmental abilities and adjusted programs to suit the children’s unique needs as well as providing appropriate guidance, information and direction to parents/caregivers.

I helped clients with serious mental illnesses to enhance their quality of life through the Assertive Community Treatment [ACT] Team. I provided rehabilitation through counseling, medical care, dispensing of medication, social, recreational/ leisure and legal aid.I further served as first point of contact for the public, clients, and staff calling or visiting the ACT office. I excelled in my role, requiring the ability to handle a variety of customer service and administrative tasks and resolve customer issues with expediency. I demonstrated proficiencies in telephone and front-desk reception within a high-volume environment.Familiar with, Word, Excel, Power Point, Client Record and Management Software (CRMS)

In this role, I assisted case manger's in advocating for individuals with developmental disabilities to obtain their goals and desires. I met with individuals in the community to assist with any need social, emotional, medical, vocational, educational and mental health needs. I prepared case notes using various databases while counselling clients to utilize community resources including employment, medical, housing, social, psychological, academic and legal support. I had experience with crisis and distress calls, ,filing, database & records management, data entry. I have gained experience with various operating systems and databases such as CRMS [Client Record Management and Assessment Software], Caseworks, Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.

While at the Clarington Project/ Community Living I worked with individuals with intellectual disabilities. I facilitated seminar's on healthy relationships, and groups for reading, writing, and mathematical skills. I provided one on one consultation with clients to collect and analyze data of individual’s personal back ground and goals. I developed and implemented clients Individualized Support Plans (ISP) through the collection of data as well as monitoring clients ISP to ensure goals and skill development were successfully being attained.

Provided emotional, social, behavioural and personal care to individuals aged 4-17 with developmental disabilities.
