I received two months of training in ESL teaching methodologies and Filipino culture, including regional language classes. After two months I taught first, second, and third year English at a small rural Filipino high school in Ifugao province for one year. I spent another year in Isabela province teaching advanced English classes to first, second, and third year journalism students. My main job, however, was cultural integration and learning to work with my Filipino counterparts both at school and in the community. Outside of school I co-facilitated numerous youth camps and adult trainings with other Peace Corps Volunteers, and also lead the Information Resource Center committee, which coordinated and organized materials and information for volunteers.
