Education Transforming Community Health (ETCH) is an interdisciplinary organization, non-profit project collaborating with homeless shelters in Seattle and other urban cities to provide accessible and client-driven preventive health education programming to homeless adults. As Quality Improvement Chair, my responsibilities are to update and organize templates and education curriculum, review feedback from volunteers, generate materials/activities for new topics and submit to SHIFA (Student Health Initiative for Access) for approval and organize the Google drive.

The Washington Student Alliance is dedicated to empowering middle and high school students across the state. We advocate change for various issues such as abortion rights, climate justice, mental health, Black Lives Matter and gun violence prevention. Our goals are to continue ensuring universal access to mental health services, prioritizing collective action towards the climate crisis and gun violence prevention policies. My responsibilities are to call donors, assist in planning, organizing and executing events and campaigns. I also assist in developing fundraising material like grant applications, compose emails and letters.

During my time at Aegis Ravenna, I made many meaningful connections with coworkers and residents. I worked with a team that provided personalized care to residents. My primary responsibilities were to assist residents with daily living activities: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, and more - while also supporting residents in maintaining their independence while ensuring a safe and comfortable environment. I assisted with mobility and transportation of residents within the facility and to appointments outside of the facility as well. I happily provided emotional support and companionship to residents. I helped maintain the cleanliness and organization in resident living areas to ensure a hygienic and safe environment for residents and staff. As a high school intern at Seattle City Light, I was able to experience a lot of different aspects of the company. I gained a lot of knowledge about the accounts payable department and the inner workings of how they run things. I filled out paperwork, input data in company data frames, used Excel, helped with incoming paperwork and more. I was also able to attend company events that involved interacting with people from all departments and visiting other work sites to learn more about how things work.

We worked with professional filming equipment and had creative freedom for the project.
