Senior Advisor
Current• Confer with federal, state, and local school officials to develop curricula and establish guidelines for educational programs• Develop contacts with colleges, universities, and public schools for purposes of establishing collaborative programs to accommodate Cherokee students and to foster mutually beneficial research efforts• Work cooperatively with other agencies and education systems toward the adoption and use of Cherokee curricula including outreach programs to public schools and community-based Cherokee groups• Prepare or approve manuals, guidelines, and reports on local, state, or national educational policies and procedures• Advise on potential risks, threats, and opportunities related to public schools, colleges, and universities• Provide project management and advisory services to program and Tribal Administration on educational policies and programs• Provide strategic policy and planning advice, information, and support to program managers• Serve as an education content expert for public schools, program managers, and tribal administration• Identifies and researches corporate, foundation, and government sources of funding• Coordinates the preparation, assembly, and delivery of funding proposal documents• Negotiates exchange of information with internal and external entities operating programs in collaboration with Education Services programs• Serves as an interim Program Director from the time of grant awards until placement of new hires• Develops training materials for grant personnel• Organizes and facilitates onboarding for all incoming grant personnel
