I set a few meetings with the client before the development process in order to: Learn their needs & wants, cost the work required, and present a proposal for the functionality and design template. For this project, I used the MERN stack: MongoDB, Express, React, and Node.js. In order to deploy, I containerized the application using Docker and deployed it using Heroku.

UNSHIFTLY (https://github.com/Blue-Himalaya/unshiftly) Full-stack scheduling app for restaurant managers and employees built with React, Redux, Sass, NodeJs, Express, PassportJs, Bcrypt, and MySQL - Implemented a Redux store to store API responses so meaningful data can be accessed across the application - Wrote MySQL queries that allow managers to create, read, update and delete user info - Handled user authentication and password safety with Bycrpt by writing functions that generate a hashed and salted version - Set cookies and local session storage for authenticated users with PassportJs - Built “Activity Log" widget that dynamically updates with changes in the restaurant's schedule

BLOCKCHAINS EXPLAINED (https://github.com/amberMorris97/blockchains-explained) Web application built with React, Redux, Nodejs, and Express - Created a brief lesson that explains to users how blockchain technology works when making cryptocurrency purchases; Fetched real-time data from an external API (blockchain.com) to provide visual context - Implemented media queries to assure responsiveness across all device sizes - Used React functional components and hooks to build and maintain state around several areas of the page; Stored all meaningful data in Redux to reduce loading times during a user’s experience
