When the sun hits you face just right for a split second, it is complete bliss and happiness. Leading people to promote themselves and flourish in their careers and seeing that AH-HA moment is that exact feeling of bliss. In my first position in management, I was allowed the opportunity to lead a team of highly successful sales, customer service, health care, and child care employees to continued growth and success, reaching our sales goals each month. I choose to relocate to New Jersey, where I once again has the opportunity to lead a fantastic team, with over 2000 students a semester and over 35 contracted employees, three outreach programs, and camp programs. During my time there successfully worked with the development team to not only meet our campaign goals but exceed and grow our community support and campaign goals. I then relocated to Texas, where I began employment at the YMCA. I oversaw 18 satellite locations during the year and eight camps. Through leadership and teamwork, the locations met their revenue goals and campaign goals each month. I had the joy of guiding individuals to a higher position and watching their growth. Today I am a Director of Arts & Education, where I use my skills lead programs that help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities further their goals in life and education while also supporting a growing team that oversees programs' daily functions. Working in this organization, we have seen increased program revenue to ensure continued support for the community, created new and innovative programs, and continued positive leadership for staff. Even when I leave the office, I am active in my community, where I am always looking for new opportunities for our organization. I live for the moments off the grid where I get to be outdoors through hiking and kayaking. Continuing my creative mind outside of work through photography creates a beautiful connection between work and personal life. Continuing those connections in innovative ways to push organizational growth and employee engagement and education is key to those blissful AH-HA moments.
