I was a Graduate Student Instructor (GSI) for UC Berkeley's Department of Physics. I prepare lesson plans for 8 hours of discussion sections and laboratory sections for 47 students weekly, grade exams, lead review sessions, and hold two office hours per week for over 640 students. Course: Physics 8A (Introductory Mechanics)
  • University Of California, San Francisco
    Graduate Student Researcher
University Of California, San Francisco Aug 2021 - Aug 2022
    San Francisco, California, Us
My research examined the biomechanics underlying work-related musculoskeletal disorders. Specifically, I used surface electromyography and machine learning to classify hand postures and exertions during simulated work tasks. The goal of this research was to design a wireless tool to track forearm muscle activity (particularly muscle fatigue), which would warn the user of overworking their hands. I also evaluated the design, anthropometric fit, and support level of exoskeletons for construction workers.
  • The Aerospace Corporation
    Mechatronics & Controls Intern
The Aerospace Corporation Jun 2021 - Aug 2021
    El Segundo, California, Us
As a mechatronics and controls intern, I worked on a team that devised a system identification tool in Python for an omnidirectional unmanned aerial vehicle. I consulted on the thermal, structures, and power and energy storage teams for a concept study of a cislunar rendezvous, proximity operations, docking, and undocking (RPODU) space mission. Lastly, I led a team that created a computer-aided design for three configured CubeSat assemblies for the cislunar RPODU study.
  • Yale College
    First-Year Counselor
    Yale College Jul 2020 - May 2021
I supported 13 first-year students as they transition to college, advising them on academics, social and cultural life of college. I also responded to crisis situations related to COVID-19 safety, mental health, and physical health.
  • Yale College
    Diversity Peer Leader
    Yale College Nov 2017 - May 2021
I co-founded the Coalition of Allyship Advocates which facilitated workshops about power, privilege, and identity to hundreds of students and faculty. For years, I co-wrote, planned, and revised these workshops to include different learning-style approaches. Our team proposed preliminary work and feedback to the Dean and President's Office, resulting in full funding for the diversity workshops and trainings which will commence in August 2021.

  • Yale Science, Technology, And Research Scholars
Undergraduate Researcher - Department Of Neuroscience
Yale Science, Technology, And Research Scholars Apr 2020 - May 2021
I worked with Professor Damon Clark to understand the neural mechanisms underlying interlimb coordination in Drosophila melanogaster. I conducted a literature review to investigate the control of invertebrate central pattern generators. I built and programmed a treadmill powered by a DC motor using Arduino and C++, and captured the limb positions of Drosophila as it walked on the treadmill. I later analyzed data using MATLAB and DeepLabCut, a machine learning software for pose estimation.
  • Yale Science, Technology, And Research Scholars
Undergraduate Researcher - Department Of Mechanical Engineering & Materials Science
Yale Science, Technology, And Research Scholars Aug 2019 - Mar 2020
With guidance from Professor Madhusudhan Venkadesan in the Biomechanics & Control Lab, I conducted structural analyses of pectoral fins to understand how curvature-induced stiffness influences swimming. I built a mechanical system (using Arduino) that mimicked hydrodynamic forces on the fins, and analyzed stress-strain curves of the fins by using MATLAB.
