Customer Quality Engineer
Current
Fcg Engineer
As an FCG at Ford Motor Company, I am able to rotate through different positions every few months. I have completed four rotations so far. In my first rotation I supported the development of alternative grille technologies and the design of a pull-ahead grille. In my second rotation, I worked with CAE analysis of leg impact on front end with the Pedestrian Protection group. My third rotation was with the Off Road and Trailer Tow Attribute team where I developed a features matrix to help future programs organize what off road features are available for new vehicles as well as helping sign-off programs at various milestones. My latest rotation was spent in Kentucky at the Kentucky Truck Plant as a Rear Fascia D&R launching the new Navigator and Expedition. Coordinated third party sign off testing and assisted lighting and water booth testing in the Sign-Off and Verification group working on various programs. My permanent position, having just graduated the FCG program, is in Climate Systems Core. I am responsible for Cabin Comfort in vehicles with new technology, such as our hybrid vehicles. I conduct testing in our wind tunnels and analyze the results compared to our test metrics. If a vehicle fails one of the tests conducted, it is my responsibility to work with other commodities to create a solution that brings the results within our tolerance of acceptable values.
Mechanical Engineering Student
Senior design: Designed and built a prototype to help our paraplegic client move from his basement level apartment to the ground floor. Being carried up half a flight of stairs was our client's only means of leaving his apartment for anything, including necessary doctors appointments. Our solution was a portable ramp with a platform pulled up or lowered down by a winch. The winch was controlled by our client using a remote. When not in use, the ramp and platform folded away for storage.
Research Assistant
I worked with a Ph.D student doing research in the field of optics. My project was testing various set ups of SLMs (spatial light modulators) and laser pointers in order to imprint an image onto different materials in a single pulse.
Metals And Mech. Intern
Determined through various strength and fatigue tests if the thickness of a lift sector could be reduced in order to reduce overall weight of seat and thereby reducing the cost. Worked with various teams to design fixture and run tests on sectors. Side projects included helping with Engineering Summit on Lean Manufacturing and deriving equations to determine plastic deformation.
Interior Engineering Intern
Refined the process of determining the severity of sink marks in injection molded parts using Moldflow and Showcase and implemented the process into daily workflow. Also, developed several build objective decks for various programs.
Customer Relations Representative
In charge of training the new employees and delegate tasks to each employee. Provide excellent customer service. Promoted from secretary to insurance agent, which added to my job responsibility and duties.
