Born and raised in Salem, Oregon, now a Portland resident, I am passionate about family, friends and all the food Portland has to offer. I can’t leave out my two biggest loves, Filbert and Fern, my Goldens! After graduating from the University of Oregon, I did what any new college graduate with a shiny new degree in English Literature does, I went to culinary school. After excelling in an intensive program learning the fine art of pastry and baking, I realized my love of baking was less about serving the desserts and more about eating them! Some less determined people might decide two student loans were enough and go find any job that paid, but not me. In my perseverance to find my passion, I enrolled in and completed a real estate program, earning my license, and landing a job in a real estate office, as the receptionist. The upside is I made connections in the industry, lifelong friends, and the realization that real estate sales was not for me. But my experience and knowledge of the industry opened up doors to the Title industry. It took a couple years, but I finally found my way to First Integrity Title. I knew I finally found the right fit. They helped me learn, not only about title and escrow procedure but about professionalism, self-confidence, leadership communication, friendship, a heck of a work ethic and so much more. I am thankful to everyone at First Integrity. I have gained lifelong skills I can apply to any company in any field.Sadly, after almost 7 years, the current refinance market is forcing me to once again figure out what’s next. It’s scary, finding myself here now, forced to start over, without the security of the income I had grown accustomed to, and the career trajectory I was sure I was on. But different from the young graduate I was all those years ago, I begin this next journey armed with a strong sense of self, and knowing that just settling for any paying job didn’t work for me before, and it sure as heck won’t now. I choose to look at this as the opportunity to once again persevere in my path to find my passion, but with the knowledge that it can be in the most unexpected places. The value that I bring to any team; my dedication to my work, my sense of humor, my interest in surrounding myself with good, hardworking, honest people, my desire to continue learning and growing - all goes with me, whether it be in the title industry, or something totally new. My grandma refers to me as a “renaissance woman” because of all the different paths I’ve taken, and skills I’ve learned, and I’ll take that as a complement!
