In this role I am responsible for all aspects of membership engagement and nurture relationships with 470+ members, including, strategic planning, new member training, client services, communications, renewals, and retention. I also maintain strong relationships with strategic partners, Associations, Business Improvement Districts and many other organizations related to Tourism in Halifax.On the Visitor Experience side I coordinate distribution of 130,000+ Visitor Guides and 25,000 Urban Walking Maps to key stakeholders, groups, and visitors. I manage delivery and operations of 8 digital kiosks located throughout the region

As Director of Sales I was the strategic business leader of the hotel Sales & Marketing Department and was responsible for property reactive sales, proactive account sales and segment sales, local and social catering sales and business travel. The position shared responsibility for achieving revenue goals, guest and associate satisfaction and the financial performance of the department. Implements brand strategy and service strategy and applicable brand initiatives in all aspects of the sale process. Leads on-property sales functions to build long term value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of hotel sales objectives. Evaluates the hotels participation in various sales channels to maximize revenues. I was also a member of the Leadership Team and help develop and implement hotel wide strategies that deliver products and services to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the brand’s target customer profile and property associates and provides a return on investment to the owner. I had a team of two Sales professionals that report directly to me but have had as many as four on my team.

As Sales Manager I was responsible for property reactive sales, proactive account sales and segment sales, mainly business travel. My duties included maintaining existing relationships with accounts and clients, prospecting new accounts, attending networking events, sales calls, sales trips, attending tradeshows, visiting travel management offices and maintaining brand standards and guest satisfaction. After only 9 months as Sales Manager the position of Director of Sales became available, I accepted the position and became head of the Sales Department.

As Executive Assistant to the President & CEO I was responsible for the daily scheduling, travel arrangements and administrative support as required by the President. I also provide administrative support to several other executives including the Executive Vice President & CFO. Coordinated all aspects of board meetings, teleconferences, staff functions and Annual General Meetings. Worked closely with our Board of Directors, Investment Bankers, Analysts, Lawyers and Shareholders on a regular basis. This was a very demanding position and one that required complete professionalism and tact. In addition to my direct responsibilities to the President I was also responsible for the day to day operations of the office including telecommunications systems, business machines and office supplies.
