I started my own small video production business in 2009, specializing in creating videos for nonprofits and companies looking to give back. Running my own business has rewarded me with opportunities to hire and manage my own teams, oversee all phases of production, and build lasting relationships with clients. Highlights have included videography for Brice Dallas Howard, post-producing and editing for 20th Century Fox, winning an Emmy from the Mid American chapter of the Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences, producing videos in multiple countries, and knowing that my work has improved the lives of children around the world. Clients have included: 20th Century Fox, Radical Media, IB5K, HALO, Renew Missouri, Nonprofit Connect, Heifer Project International, University of Kansas, Park University, and Watt Law.

Along with running my own company, I enjoy providing DIT, training, and production management services as a media manager for NFL Films during Football Season. I manage an incredibly fast team of runners and media from as many as 22 film crews simultaneously. I also manage communication of technical and aesthetic information between producers, post-producers and videographers.

I worked with clients to develop videos for their brands, pitches, conferences, products, services, technologies, and intellectual properties. I built small crews of both internal staff and hired talent to shoot either in our studio or on location. During shoots I focused mostly on producing, directing, and lighting. When projects entered post production I edited them on Avid until we switched to Final Cut Pro. I also used After Effects, Illustrator and Photoshop to for motion graphics.

I was a video editor and animator for thousands of nationally broadcast television commercials with very short deadlines. The volume of work provided opportunities to solve problems at all stages of post-production. From booking and directing voice over talent, building After Effects templates, animating motion graphic only commercials, mastering spots to meet national broadcast standards, to fixing and managing an editable digital asset system. Despite the pace of the work, many of the commercials I edited won awards for editing.

Freelanced long term as an in house avid editor, while also creating motion graphics, and managing digital assets.

As an associate producer I would review, edit, and eventually write scripts while coordinating cast, crew, wardrobe, hair and make up, and craft services for the San Francisco TV show Gamer Nation. I would also assist the editor by keying greenscreens and editing segments for the show.

I wrote, produced, directed, shot, and edited cable television commercials. This job gave me the opportunity to gain more experience editing on an Avid with more clients and shorter deadlines.
