• Conduct Assessments: Evaluate clients' mental health needs, symptoms, and challenges to create tailored treatment plans.• Provide Counseling and Therapy: Use evidence based therapeutic techniques (e.g., CBT, DBT, EMDR) to help clients work through mental health issues.• Crisis Intervention: Offer immediate support during mental health crises and develop safety plans as necessary.• Collaborate with Other Providers: Work with psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care.• Document Client Progress: Maintain accurate, confidential records of therapy sessions, treatment plans, and client progress.• Educate Clients and Families: Provide psychoeducation on mental health conditions and coping strategies for clients and their support systems.• Advocate for Clients: Help clients access additional resources, such as support groups, housing assistance, or financial aid if needed.• Stay Updated on Best Practices: Engage in professional development and keep up with the latest in mental health research and practices.

Day Treatment Services are the most intensive outpatient services available to children/youth. The services must provide an alternative to residential treatment or acute psychiatric hospitalization or serve as a transition from these services. Day Treatment is a behavioral intervention and strengths-based program, provided in the context of a therapeutic milieu, which provides children/adolescents with serious emotional/behavioral disturbances and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities the intensity of treatment necessary to enable them to live in the community. Day Treatment Services are based on behavior management principles and includes, at a minimum, positive feedback, self-esteem building and social skills training. Additional components are determined by the needs of the participants at a particular site and may include skills training in the areas of impulse control, anger management, problem solving, and/or conflict resolution.
