I am currently an intern at Avangrid, where I apply my focused approach in engineering management, progress monitoring, and data analytics, honed through my studies in Industrial and Systems Engineering at the Thomas J. Watson College of Engineering and Applied Science. My role involves applying classroom knowledge to real-world scenarios, ensuring projects stay on track and processes are effectively monitored. This experience at the intersection of academia and industry prepares me to contribute to the engineering field upon my anticipated graduation in 2025.As a rising senior, I have completed projects involving reverse engineering, collaborating with classmates to configure a game using an Arduino system and the Simon Says algorithm. I also have experience in enterprise and quality control case studies, ergonomics, operational research, healthcare systems, and data analysis. I am working towards Lean Six Sigma certification and have intermediate proficiency in Python, Matlab, Minitab, Microsoft software, and Excel.Balancing academics with extracurricular activities, I have joined four campus organizations. As an intern for the Caribbean Student Association, I learned the value of community and social networking. My passion for activism led me to intern for the Black Student Union. Currently, I serve as Co-Public Relations Officer for the National Society of Black Engineers and Secretary for Powerful United Ladies Striving to Elevate. These roles have been instrumental in my decision to advocate for equity and involvement in higher education and the corporate world. I aspire to inspire others to pursue their goals and leave a lasting legacy.Additionally, in the 2023-2024 academic school year, I was the Co-President of the Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP). This position allowed me to connect with faculty and students to plan events and outreach for minority students in higher education. Through CSTEP I gained experience in being a research mentee in 2023 and 2024. Looking ahead, I intend to pursue my master's degree to continue my passion for learning and advancing in the engineering field.
