Cancer Research & Analytics - Project Manager
Role 1 Worked closely with Directors and Leaders of the Cancer Care Alberta, Cancer Research & Analytics Portfolio by assisting with strategic research planning and business reporting to highlight program success and key research metrics. Responsibilities include:- Developed communication tools to present scientific and analytical research done by Cancer Research & Analytics. - Completed environmental scans of research done by other cancer centres to better understand the landscape of cancer research in Canada. -Review of published studies by Cancer Research & Analytics to create lay summaries of research and communicate research findings to a broader audience.Role 2Conduct Real World Late Phase studies in oncology as per International Conference on Harmonization - Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP) Guidelines within the Clinical Outcome Research Group. Responsibilities include:Knowledge of local requirements for real world late phase studies. High quality data capture (chart abstraction activities and data collection)Correspondence with Sponsors, Medical Monitors and Clinical Research Organizations. Clinical Trial Budget Analyst And Coordinator
The Cross Cancer Institute is the comprehensive cancer centre with a large catchment area and a strong Clinical Trial Unit. Working with the Clinical Trial Launch Team, I analyze and review financial contracts and budgets from external pharmaceutical companies to support the launch and entire lifecycle of a clinical trial at the Cross Cancer Institute.My work involves the following: -Analysis and review of Phase I, II and III clinical trial protocols and associated medical manuals including a wide variety of solid tumor groups and hematological malignancies to draft and develop site-level internal financial budgets and documents. -Review and edit site-drafted budgets to ensure all laboratory tests diagnostic imaging, procedures, pharmacy workload, startup, closeout and study staff personnel fees are appropriately budgeted while maintaining a contingency fund. -Build and maintain strong relationships and collaborations with internal Clinical Trial Nurses and Coordinators, Laboratory and Pharmacy staff to confirm standard of care procedures, tests and financial details of planned site clinical trial activities. -Collaboration with Financial Analysts and Grant Administrators to ensure Cross Cancer Institute Site budgets were comprehensive, covered site fees and were appropriately amended when required. -Negotiated complex financial documents with external Pharmaceutical Sponsors and Clinical Research Organizations to reach a financial agreement to incorporate in the site contract Clinical Trial Master Agreement. -Mentoring and training of new clinical trial budget staff including Budget Coordinators and the Senior Financial Analyst.
