Work included method development and validation for environmental air sampling that is conducive to processing mustard agent-contaminated samples. Primary laboratory developer in the analytical chemical agent laboratory supporting the Pueblo Chemical Agent Destruction PilotPlant. Developed and implemented methods and procedures for a new laboratory using inputs from Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) methods and chemical agent operations protocol. Developed Method 8270D to suit processing of environmental air samples that are mustard agent-contaminated. Assisted management of laboratory operations including equipment procurement, sample process and report development, procedure testing and documentation, staffing and training, quality assurance auditing, hazardous waste management, and communicating with site (client) for laboratory performance expectations and requirements. The laboratory (a.k.a. Process Engineering Group Laboratory) was repeatedly commended by the client and peers for outstanding turnaround time and quality of deliverables. Additionally served on behalf of the EPA as a quality and technical systems auditor of long-term air toxic trends laboratories across the United States; assisted laboratories across the nation in optimizing quality control and laboratory systems.

Research focused on fluorescent activity of GMP Synthetase in the presence of ANS and Thioflavin T, as well as studies in crystallization and fibrillation of the protein.
