As the Acquisition Manager, I reach out to and communicate with potential clients, or General Contractors, of projects we would like to be awarded. I receive and scout out potential projects via Building Connect, and then contact those GCs to start building rapport. This can often include organizing several meetings with their team leads and making connections to generate their interest in our team and company. I then work closely with our estimating team and material suppliers to generate a Bid. I submit this to the Contractor through a formal Proposal, which I built with the help of our legal team, and produce a quote for the price of completing the Scope of Work. If our bid is accepted, I assist in the Contract negotiations, where I communicate with our legal team to ensure the contract is suitable for both Cabrera’s and the Contractor.As the Controller, I oversee much of the operative financials, both receiving and payable. I communicate with clients regarding payment owed for contracted services and charge those using Payment Applications (G702/G703), Change Orders, and Invoices. I manage and assist the Accounts Payable division and its employees, who create weekly checks, track outgoing expenses, and prepare reports for tax purposes, all using the Quickbooks Online software. Since I started with the company, I have worked with the Owner and the COO to create a functional and organized system for financials and all other business divisions by implementing the use of Google Drive and Quickbooks Online.

I provided transportation assistance to the children and parents of between 10 and 12 cases, ranging from 1 to 5 kids each. This included picking up children from schools, daycare, or foster homes and bringing them to their scheduled visitations with parents and family, as well as for medical appointments or community activities. I was responsible for supervising and taking detailed documentation of these visits in the IMPACT software. I would assist parents with transportation as well, including doctor appointment, community activities, meetings with their caseworkers, or routine drug tests. In addition to transportation, I routinely assisted caseworkers in conducting assessments of family strengths, needs, and barriers, attended court hearings related to cases I was involved in, provided emotional support to families in times of stress or crisis, and visited clients at home to evaluate needs and support.

I provided administrative support to 20-24 Conservatorship Caseworkers with many legal and organization duties of their cases. Some of these included filing Discoveries, Protective Orders, and other legal documents with the courts, scheduling visitation for parents & children, organizing case files, performing routine data entry on IMPACT software, creating 2054 forms for payment to service providers, arranging travel for caseworkers and supervisors, provide supervision of children in Child Without Placement (CWOP), and creating training pamphlets for new Administrative Assistants.

Christian Youth Theater is a non-profit after-school theater arts education program based in Dallas, Texas. I worked alongside youth choir teacher, Jacob Wayman, in a semester-long music skills class for about 20 children, ages 8-12. I assisted with lessons by teaching about rhythms, pitch, and harmonies. The children then performed in a “showcase” concert at the end of the semester.
