As Head Housekeeper on board M/Y Octopus, I directly managed a team of 9 with guests on board and co-managed the entire team of 16. My responsibilities included all provisioning, stock control, creating proposals, managing all worklists and ensuring the team remained positive and motivated during long maintenance periods and whilst in off-the-beaten-track areas. M/Y Octopus was a heavily chartered vessel so there was a large amount of guest interaction in my role & ensuring all guests received an excellent service in housekeeping at all times.

During my time on M/Y Grace I managed all work lists, and ensured that all tasks were completed to a very high standard. I was held responsible for the crew and guest interior, and upheld a high standard of organisation and cleanliness at all times. During my time on board i was in charge of a team of 7. I did a lot of training exercises with the team to ensure everyone was on the same page and performed all tasks to the same standard. I communicated directly with the owners on their preferences, and ensured the interior was immaculate at all times. During my time on M/Y Grace, I was responsible for all stock control, provisioning, budgeting and management of the interior team. During shipyard periods, I was in charge of liaising with all interior contractors and managing shipyard projects.

During my time on board, I brought the yacht out of a heavy shipyard period and then winterized the yacht on the other end of the season. I was in charge of a team of 3 and I was responsible for budgeting, accounts, management of the interior, work lists and organizing contractors on board for the shipyard period. Whilst on board I created a housekeeping bible with all new procedures and checklists. As head of housekeeping, I was in charge of ordering and monitoring of all crew consumables, housekeeping items, and uniform, as well as leading the girls and creating all worklists.

In this role, I was in the service and housekeeping department, maintaining high levels of service. As a senior, I lead service during guest breakfast, lunch and dinner, and assisted in cabin checks in the housekeeping department.

In this role I was in the housekeeping department assisting the team of 8 to keep on top of high standards around the interior of the vessel. During this time we hosted events with 200+ guests on board and the owner lived on board for the duration of my time on board.

In this role I worked in a team of 6 ensuring high standards remain at all times in the both housekeeping and breakfast, lunch & dinner service. During my time on board we hosted many events with up to 50 people.
