Working to elect Yassamin Ansari to Phoenix City Council in District 7 who is running a progressive political campaign to build a more sustainable, inclusive Phoenix. Conducting research on all key climate issues in Phoenix, District 7, writing policy content and compiling research for Climate Action Plan for the City of Phoenix.

Through this position, I researched sustainability trends, sustainable solutions, and other sustainable events at ASU that will deliver stimulating content for tSR via articles, podcasts, and short-film videos) I personally created. Assisted in developing a content schedule (via articles, podcasts, videos, etc.) for contributors to follow the next semester.

Led the first ASU residential composting program. Collaborated with on-campus organizations (Zero Waste, etc.) and community assistants to innovate sustainable and engaging solutions for ASU. Weekly, I managed compost bin distribution and effective marketing to expand the program. The goal of the compost program was to contribute to ASU's climate positive goal by fostering successful sustainable behavior change within ASU students. While leading, I focused on organizing an efficient asset management process, writing grants to gain funding, and managing a budget of $1500+. This program, it has received the ASU Pitchfork Award for Best Sustainable Program at ASU (2019), Finalist for the 2019 Changemaker Sustainability Challenge Grant, and was the winner in the 2019 Change the World Exhibit Category. Responsible for leading educational programs and paraprofessional counseling for a residence hall wing of 50+ undergraduate students. Demonstrated resourceful conflict resolution and communication skills in challenging and unique situations. Assisted in planning event “Vista and Villas Go Green” by outreaching to local environmental clubs and leaders (City of Tempe Vice Mayor, Lauren Kuby) to bring sustainability awareness in a dormitory setting. 225+ students attended this successful program.

Outreached to local businesses and community members interested in transforming their backyards into edible, sustainable landscapes for implementation of a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) at a local scale. Redesigned Utopian Harvest's (Agriscaping's CSA sister company's) website to create an accesible virtual farmer's market where customers can purchase CSA bundles online. Created and actively managed social media outlets (Facebook and Instagram).

Compiled literature for a meta-analysis project testing the hypothesis of evident urban homogenization in Phoenix, Arizona. Read through 100 research papers per week to compile for a meta-analysis. Extensively utilized Excel to create an efficient sorting process.

Working in the food industry sparked an interest to pursue food systems sustainability at ASU. Consistently received positive feedback from guests on performance reviews. Worked an average of 25-35 hours a week to save money for my education. Trained and collaborated with employees to ensure the delivery of efficient, high-quality service. Enhanced company reputation by performing with excellent customer service.
