Jensen Strategies consulting firm supports the ability of local governments (cities, counties, special districts) as well as non-profit organizations, and businesses to make decisions, navigate change, and prepare for the future. As an associate, I serve as a project leader and provide support for a variety of projects related to facilitation, strategic planning, goal setting, policy analysis, research, and project management for clients in the Pacific Northwest to support their service to communities and practice of good governance.In my time with Jensen Strategies so far, I've had the pleasure of working with over a dozen communities, Councils or other elected Boards, and their dedicated staff.

Slow Train Cafe is a beloved local coffee shop and bar.During my time I ran register and backbar service for iced drinks, prepared food items as well as wine and mixed signature cocktails.

Served as adult leader for U.S. delegation (four 11 year olds) to Canada July 2016 to participate in a month long village with 12 other countries designed to teach global friendship, sustainability, human rights, and conflict resolution.At the camp, I assume legal guardianship for the delegates and, with other leaders, am responsible for planning all camp activities, days out, and general supervision of the 65 delegates. Before the camp, leaders work with the children and families for several months to establish trusting relationships, prepare for the camp experience, including planning a National Day with delegates, and coordinate other aspects of travel and planning.

This student committee manages the Green EDGE Fund, sourced from a semesterly Green Fee and efficiency paybacks, to be used for student and community generated proposals in the form of efficiency loans, sustainability grants, or Carbon Management Fund grants. The fund manages between $150,000-$250,000. Members are responsible for working with applicants on proposals and budgets as well as coordinating with other relevant stakeholders. Members also generate proposals independently as well as with the college.As Vice-Chair, I was responsible for producing a official annual report on funded projects for circulation.

The National Parks Conservation Association was formed shortly after the National Park Service to advocate on behalf of the National Parks System. Its mission is "to protect and enhance America's National Park System for present and future generations."In my second informal internship with the organization, I helped identify and contact stakeholders to submit public comments on an Environmental Assessment in the Buffalo River watershed (AR).I also prepared research for NPCA Report and Activism Guide on the impacts of industrial agriculture on National Park water resources. For the report, I prepared research for 6 park case studies as well as began a legal tool box of relevant environmental legislation for community organizers.During my work, I traveled to Hatteras Island and Ocracoke Island in NC to meet with the Superintendent, local stakeholders and to attend a public meeting on the the Outer Banks Off-Road Vehicle Management Plan.

After serving as an intern in Senator Hagan's campaign headquarters in Greensboro, I was recruited to continue my campaign service as a hired field organizer in Raleigh, Wake County.As a field organizer, I was responsible for recruiting volunteers and voters in a specific geographic area. During that time I trained volunteers and volunteer leaders for phone banks, canvasses, data entry and other tasks. I prepared turf and phone packets and all other relevant materials for volunteers.I used VoteBuilder to create lists, cut turf, and analyze data as needed. For get out the vote (GOTV) efforts, I recruited a full staff of trained leaders and canvassers to operate a staging location in a volunteer's home close to key voter neighborhoods to continuously knock doors each day of voting. My location was able to visit roughly 1,200 doors on Election Day.I also was asked to served as a staff lead for volunteers during Sen. Kay Hagan and Bill Clinton rally event.

Working with Senator Kay Hagan's Campaign Finance team, I had the honor of working alongside a nationally recognized campaign staff in a high profile Senate race. Senator Hagan was an exceptional public servant, I am grateful to have had the opportunity to support her efforts.During that time, I gained meaningful experience with donor relations and record management, including staffing multiple private fundraising events, making event promotion calls and emails, created labels and completed large event invitation mailers with high accuracy, maintaining and standardizing records and even donor research. While interning I was also given responsibility of populating and checking the Senator's call book. Additionally, I assisted the Compliance department with processing direct mail, editing NGP records and preparing for FEC Report filing.While working in headquarters, I also worked with Field Team part-time to research community organizations and businesses to support inclusive outreach efforts.

Serving as an intern with the City of Knoxville Office of Neighborhoods I had the opportunity to develop and design content for city’s traffic calming policy review informational website and coordinate preliminary event logistics for a series of 5 public meetings for traffic calming policy review. I also supported the Neighborhood Small Grants Program by creating and distributing a survey to applicants to collect program feedback.
