My current role at Bunnings is within the support team. At my store, I work with a variety of team members. Most of my time is spent on the service desk, where I deal with complex customer issues, sales, returns, click and collects and hire shop. I am proficient at handling money, including dispensing and depositing money into registers at the beginning and end of day. I am entrusted to support new team members and teach them the appropriate skills. This has taught me excellent communication and leadership skills and provided me with the confidence to form meaningful relationships with a range of people.

As a customer service officer for YMCA leisure centres, I ensured customers had an enjoyable and memorable experience. This role involved signing children and adults into the leisure centre, signing up customers for gym memberships and swimming lessons and entering these on the computer, and sales. Within this role I saw to customer issues and complaints and handled them accordingly. The nature of a leisure centre and the amount of members enrolled meant that I had to employ problem solving and leadership skills. Through this, I furthered my communication skills and thought of innovative ways to ensure customer satisfaction across the centre. This role allowed me the opportunity to engage with the local community and form trusting relationships with families of all different background.

As a sales assistant for the Melbourne Cricket Ground, I worked at some of Australia’s biggest sporting and entertainment events. These included the 2019 AFL Grand Final and the 2019 and 2020 Boxing Day Test. I worked within a variety of food stores in the MCG, including the MCC. I was exposed to a fast paced environment that relied on a proficient level of communication and ability to use various POS machines. I was tasked with servicing thousands of attendees per event. This included handling money and ensuring they were receiving what they came for. I was also tasked with food preparation, where I was able to showcase my organisational skills. I ensured that the food shelves were always stocked and customers did not have large wait times.

Within this role I was a sales assistant that undertook duties at the stores front end. This included interacting with 100-200 customers per shift, where I formed meaningful relationships with regulars. The fast paced nature of the role, increased my confidence in making decisions and handling money. I memorised upwards of 50 types of baked goods and made meaningful recommendations to customers based on their needs. I showed proficiency in serving customers quickly and providing them with an enjoyable shopping experience. My role also included ensuring the baked goods were adequately stocked and cleaning the store at the end of my shift.
