Hi! I am Amelia Yee, a Year One student at Nanyang Polytechnic, Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management. As a Hospitality Student, I have a strong interest in specialising in event management in the future after graduating from an university. Being in this diploma, I have to possess hard skills like organisational skills, being bilingual, and event planning. In addition to studying at the moment, I also do currently have a job as a Subsitute Instructional Assitant in an international school. These has both taught me skills and has allowed me to utilise more soft skills, document organisation, time management, patience and open mindedness, to name a few. After graduating I do plan to attend a local university to get my Degree in Marketing or Degree in Business in NTU or SMU. I do also hope to be able to specialise in event management as an event manager. I believe that having a degree in marketing would allow me to understand the customer base better, and would allow me to continue my career in the hospitality industry.
