During my schooling years, I was often involved in several projects and extra-curricular activities within my chosen field of study. For five consecutive years, I completed the Write-A-Book-In-A-Day challenge, usually putting my determination and meticulous attention to grammar and punctuation to good use in my roles of writer, editor and team leader. I also completed the USC Creative Writing Excellence program four times over the span of six years and explored numerous innovative narrative and editing techniques. Furthermore, my astute English skills were regularly exploited to read over and edit assessment pieces and assignments for my peers.For years, I have had stories inside my head. I have had people, places, and worlds growing and changing, learning and arguing, every time I have pressed pen to paper, or my fingers to a keyboard, and let them have their say. I have been involved in several opportunities to let my fictional people choose their destinies; I often entered creative writing and short story competitions, including ICAS English, Reading, and Writing; the Mary Poppins Short story competition; and the Write4Fun competition. My favourite time of the year in high school was always when we were required to write a short story in English, a subject I excelled in throughout my schooling. I have been dedicated to the development of my skills as a creative writer and editor for years, and I have been happily feeding my inquiring mind book after book after book. Reading has been one of the largest elements of my life for as long as I can remember. For the last five years, I have devoured any and all fantasy and romance books I could get my hands on. Recently, I started using the Kindle Application on my phone, in an effort to save my back from lugging around five or more books at any given time. My ongoing love affair with books has allowed me to gain a keen understanding for what does and does not work when crafting a fictional work.
