I have enjoyed opportunities in diverse museum and archival collections management and am well-versed in numerous cataloging systems, as well as digitization technology and procedures. I practice an inclusive approach to collections care that seeks balance between preservation standards and community accessibility. As a student at the University of Michigan, I worked closely with University museum staff, conducting exhibit research under Dr. Carla Sinopoli, director of the Museum Studies Program, and completed an extended internship with Collections Manager Sebastián Encina of the Kelsey Museum of Archaeology. After graduating with my undergraduate degree, I held the position of Archivist at the Dawes Arboretum in Newark, Ohio. As one of only two staff for the historic house museum and archives on the property, I oversaw a variety of responsibilities including collections management, research requests, object preservation, and archival digitization. In this position, I implemented a new organizational catalog and authored the collection’s first pest management plan based on Integrated Pest Management standards. Most recently, I worked in the Collections Management Department at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force and received a Master of Arts in Public History at Wright State University. At NMUSAF, I regularly performed basic and intermediate conservation treatments, designed and carried out designated storage plans, and processed new donations to the collection.
