Participating in a 3-year engineering rotational program, with yearly rotations in new product development, manufacturing, and quality control. This opportunity allows me to learn how each of our departments interacts with one another to achieve common business goals, as well as follow new products through the design lifecycle - from conceptualization to launch. Other aspects of the program include leadership development, both through formal skills assessments/development and informal mentorship sessions, as well as networking across the company.

Supported over 100 active members, implemented a $850,000 budget, voiced student perspective with UK Alumni Association and executive administration regularly, and directed specialized teams for childcare support, equitable elections, and viewpoint neutrality in organizational funding. One accomplishment of my term was championing the voice of students with children, who faced unmet need from assistantships to cover the cost of childcare while attending school. Through a combination of over 100 quantitative surveys and anecdotal responses, I elevated the concern to university administration, securing additional funding for our SGA Childcare Grant and further prioritization of students with children in long-term university growth.

Created unique student grant opportunities for 250 students amounting in over $300,000 in funding, oversaw the budget and inventory for a free graduate school prep book program and directed committee review of prestigious scholarships.

Participated in weekly Senate and monthly faculty Senate meetings, engaged in thoughtful debate and voted on resolutions for the betterment of campus

Shadowed active leadership positions in large campus organizations, researched access to voting on campus, and learned about positive leadership styles. This program is what inspired me to pursue leadership in student government for years to come.

Managed eight research and development projects in the plastics industry, self-educated on simulation programs and software, and engaged with international customers and colleagues to identify new product needs.One project was based on developing a method for simulation testing on self-driving vehicle components using Analysis Electronics, in collaboration with another colleague based in Shanghai, China. Using my self-starter and communication skills, I was able to teach myself the simulation functionality, collect data from dozens of trials, then present the method via Powerpoint to three key stakeholders by the end of the summer.

Supported 30 materials engineering students in metallurgy lab testing and collecting data, encouraged an engaging lab experience by providing thoughtful and supportive feedback, held weekly office hours, and graded lab notebooks.When grading lab notebooks, I remained fair while also providing feedback with direct explanations for improvement. I created a welcoming and personable environment with students while in class. By the end of the semester, students felt comfortable asking for help, and their lab notebook grades significantly improved overall.

Reverse-engineered competitor products affected by corrosion through metallurgical testing and analysis. Collaborated with professional engineers to identify problems and provide solutions. My main assignment was to study the effects of corrosion on two competing air conditioner units. I created a long-term plan for reverse-engineering the metal components, gathered feedback from my manager and other engineers, and compiled a summary report at the end of the summer. I was able to draw comparisons between competitors and susceptible areas of corrosion based on scanning electron microscopy imagery.

Warmly welcomed guests, cleaned tables for servers, effectively managed reservations, waitlists, and other inquiries, upheld COVID-19 regulations, and communicated with take-out staff on orders.
