I worked with a team of undergraduate students and two Macalester professors (Dr. Mike Anderson and Dr. Jerald Dosch) at the Macalester College Katharine Ordway Field Station on several ongoing observational studies. Our team collected data on the impact of deer exclosures on native plant diversity in a oak forest understory, plant biodiversity in an oak.

Under the mentorship of Dr. Nyree Zerega and Dr. Louise Egerton-Warburton, I investigated the impact of a perennial wheatgrass (T. intermedium) on aboveground and belowground ecosystem health and stability, measured by soil microbial activity, soil respiration, and floristic quality index.
